Passionate about mountains and sport from an early age, Tim’s life has always revolved around the high places. The photo here shows him on the White Spider of the Eiger’s North Face — a reminder that his connection to the Alps runs deeper than photography.
His career began in 1984, when he turned the camera toward climbing partners while recovering from a season of climbing and trail running in the Alps, having won such alpine classics as Sierre Zinal as a junior.
At the time, great mountaineering images existed, but authentic ski photography was rare. By the following winter, Tim had gone professional, determined to bring the same visual intensity to skiing as had long existed for climbing.
“His photography and editorial work have been commissioned by leading outdoor and lifestyle brands including Decathlon, Tissot, Rossignol, Dynastar, and Patagonia, and his stock archive has been represented by Getty Images.”
Over the years, his images and editorial work have appeared in magazines, catalogues, and campaigns across Europe and North America. He has worked with clients including Decathlon, Tissot, Rossignol, Dynastar, and Patagonia, and his stock images have been represented by Getty Images, Jupiter, and others. Beyond photography, Tim founded Fall-Line Skiing Magazine, Alpine Magazine, and now Fast & Light: The Alpine Sports Journal, combining editorial vision with hands-on mountain experience.
Based in the Alps on the slopes of Mont Blanc, with offices in Geneva, Tim continues to photograph, edit, and publish, always returning to the same source of inspiration: the mountains themselves.
